Warminster on the hill 1991/1992
This was a good party, although it took a while to find. Usual
set up, I ended up driving Mark and Steve I think, John was faffing,
so we decided to go before him. We had directions from the Rifes'
I think, and we set out. Driving down the dual carriage-way not
knowing where abouts exactly the rave was. I noticed on the right
that there seemed to be lots of lights coming from what looked like
a barn. So we took a look and it ended up to be nothing, not deterred
we pushed on. I remember we got to a big roundabout somewhere in
Warminster, and that was where it started. We hit a huge convoy
that was being led by this car with a yellow flashing light, we
whizzed around and barged our way into the convoy, turning the music
right up and getting all hyped up. We drove for about ten minutes
where we started to go up the hill, as per usual cars were parked
everywhere. We continued up till we came to the brow and we managed
to get into a tight space.
We walked a short distance across the field to where the party
was being held. It was in a tent with a small chill out area which
if looking at the decks would be on the right. The D.J. was in what
looked like a VW van, very similar to the Weston Woods party, that
is why I think it was the same crew, also the speakers and some
of the lights looked familiar. The music was odd, I can't remember
what it was, but it was very hard to get into and dance. Had a quick
go but it wasn't right. Every-one seemed to be on the same vibe
as me, there were more people chilled out that dancing. It wasn't
until the early hours that people started to come up and dance.
I'm not sure who was there, but we sat on the edge of a dip on a
tree stump, I think the hurricane earlier that year had blown it
over and it had uprooted itself. We sat there and got stoned. While
sitting there spaced out we began to watch people walk past us,
we had prime seats. What the majority of people were doing, being
off their heads and being dark also, they were falling down the
hole, which made great entertainment for us space cadets. I think
we sat there for several hours watching it. We didn't bother to
tell anyone, why should we spoil our fun.
We left at dawn not seeing anyone we knew except Jon I think who
was with (what's his name now, the dancer guy). I can just about
remember being very out of it, not getting home though, I think
I may have hit a few cars on the way out! Talking about the rave
afterwards, so called, some girl was run over and killed by a car
who was driving around the field, but that has never been confirmed.
Did not see any police there or outside the rave.

Well it could be any of those hills, would know it if I go back.
