Chateau'tastic. Actually we are chateau'd out! Lovely to be back on the bike again, felt good. So we left our lovely hotel and headed to chambard, a huge magnificent chateau. We skirted the edge of it taking photos but didn't go in to look around. Apprentice it is pretty good, but as the grounds were not great, we opted for xxxx instead.

The roads were pretty nice and we had a lovely ride. Xxxx was great, interesting to see how narrow this one was. The gardens were great and the hounds, we missed the feeding, stank!

A short day at just over 30miles I think, I decided to leave the others and go ahead. The headwind was crazy and made it difficult to get anywhere. I felt the back wheel was playing up when I tried to accelerate downhill, so had to back off some.

The campsite is large with a pool, noisy with lots of kids. Lots of mozzies too, grrrr. The sun during the ride was super hot and the air really dry. Hard hot and nasty. My water bottles were cooked, the water boiled. Got to camp and just wanted to collapse. Did a ton of laundry and had to clean the bike as not done it for a couple of days. Also replaced the back mavic wheel as the spokes on that also looked bad.

It was a shame to say bye to Mike & Dave this morning. Maybe that has affected moral a bit today. It was great to share this trip with them. Hopefully they got home ok via Paris.

Hmmm what else? Started to see lots of vines growing now. Last nights meal was lovely, just don't tell buster I ate his brother!!.
