Blog for the day:
What a dreadful place Malaucene is. Sitting here in the hotel bar as we can't check in till 2am. Market day outside and more cyclists about than mosquitos at a stagnant pond. Actually I would prefer the mozzies as they are more friendly. What a bunch of up your own arse tossers. It's like the whole of the dulwich 'ankers are in town and on the surrounding roads.

Today's ride was a nice simple rest day of 40miles. Not much climbing and even though we had a lot of main roads out of town, there was an ok cycle lane most of the way. We cycled over the train line we took in Easter down to Aix. We then headed into wine country again with vines everywhere. Sunflowers were out but the lavender had been cut already :( with one rough field being cut as we cycled past, lovely smell.

Vaison la romaine was nice but touristy and busy. Lovely buildings and views. Then it was a simple ride to where I am now, in this god forsaken hole. Tomorrow is ventoux day, not sure if I feel fit enough to do it though.

I did some laundry and hung it out the hotel room window, when i came back to collect it thousands and thousands of ants had taken it over so I had to spend hours showering them off and trying to drown them in the sink.

Even le tour was saying that sun flowers seemed to be in short supply this year in coming out
